I wrote this book after realising that when many children start learning the piano (or any instrument for that matter), they rarely get to know much about the instrument itself. Sure, they can Google and read information from various sources, but what of the fun facts? How about some jokes? How about some music to listen to?
'Why Is My Piano Black And White?' is a children's reference book all about the piano! It's 186 pages filled will over 100 illustrations, biographies, questions, jokes and fun facts. It takes children on a journey through different musical genres including Gospel, Rock, Classical and Jazz, to learn about the lives and music of pianists such as Khatia Buniatishvili, Scott Joplin, Elton John, Mary Lou Williams and Stevie Wonder. The music mentioned in the book can be listened to via free Spotify playlists – simply scan the QR codes in the back of the book to access them!
It's aimed at children between the ages of 8-12, but there's something in there for everybody!
